1.)   Set a budget.

If your parents or the groom’s parents are involved, make sure to consult with them to prepare a set budget. If it’s just you and the hubby paying for the wedding, make sure to figure out what budget makes the most sense for your big day. This will help you on deciding first and foremost on your venue and then you can go from there

2.)   Pick a Venue

Every bride dreams of a grand or even intimate venue that perfectly fits her personality and has the intricate details that make your dreams a reality. Do your research of all possible options in your area and figure out which best fits your budget, and has a date available that best fits your schedule.

3.)   Set your date!

Do you want a fall, winter, spring or summer wedding? What is the best time of year for the location that you are getting married in? After figuring out what available dates your venue has, choose the one that best fits and put it in your calendar as the day you’ll remember forever!

4.)   Start on your guest list

Choosing your venue and deciding your budget will help you to narrow down your number on guests. This can be a stressful part of planning as the list begins to grow. Sit down with your hubby to be and start with family and those that are most important in your life. And don’t forget to add you bridal party and groomsmen to the number!

5.)   Choose your bridal party and groomsmen

7.)   Hire a Wedding Coordinator

This step is going to help you calm the craziness and get your brained wrapped around all of the little details that you may forget. This ensures that your day is so special and exactly as you want it without all of the stress and worry. Make sure to bring ideas and pictures if you have any when consulting with your planner in order to help them better understand your vision. Also remember that you can ask your coordinator about different options from just a consultation to helping coordinate your entire day! Most coordinators are willing to help you as much as possible according to your budget.

Sometimes this can be overwhelming as there are so many different styles and choices when it comes to photographers. Make sure to research photographers in your area and check their pricings for day of, bridals, engagement pics and so on! After choosing your photographer, schedule your engagement pics as soon as possible for your save the dates!

9.)   Send Save the Dates!

This is making it more official and so exciting! Choosing save the dates can help you in choosing your color scheme for your wedding and your over all aesthetic that will lead into your dream vision coming together! It’s time to finally put that Pinterest board to use! The years of dreaming and hours of scrolling through pictures of floral arrangements, ceremony set ups, and all of the tiny details that make it so special, has finally come to good use and its time to put it all together! Plan out all of the fine details from place settings, room set up, what flowers to you want in your bouquet etc. Put it all together on a vision board or in a binder and go over the details with your wedding planner and figure out how to put that dream into your budget! Don’t forget all of the DIY things you can do (also a Pinterest worthy search.) Happy Planning!
